
BIOGRAPHY and ARTIST STATEMENT
Bio
Kaylee Minnis has been an aspiring artist for more than 10 years. She was born April 6th 2001, in
the state of New Jersey, and raised in Tampa, Florida. Through her childhood she has pursued many passions such as horseback riding, theatre and art. She competed competitively in a type of horseback riding called dressage for about 14 years; In 2019 she competed in the FEI North American Youth Championships. During high school she participated in theatrical arts, joining the theatre club and preforming in multiple productions put on by the school. When she graduated in 2019 she chose to dabble more in visual arts and is now currently attends The University of Tampa to further her passion and career.

Artist Statement
​
Everyone deals with trauma and disorders differently, for Kaylee She uses her abstract art as a form to express and release her herself into her work. Its originality comes from the hardships and loss she has suffered through. In creating such chaotic art, she hopes to create an emotional effect on her viewers to show the messiness of dealing with unkempt trauma.
Utilizing Acrylic paint, charcoal, graphite, as well as all form of clay for sculptures. She practices processed based work using multiple methods such as pendulum, string pulling and classic brush work. These methods help add both aspects of disorder and manageability to help her reach her desired creations.
